This company has growing steadily for years due to their quality solutions, staff and support. With solutions and services successfully delivered on every continent, Australia has been designated to spearhead further growth and development. Their solutions are key to the successful and safe operation of surface and underground mines around the world with all the major miners – the future looks bright for them, and importantly for your long-term career in mining technology. Or technology in mining. Whichever way you wish to look at it, these are very real and key opportunities. As there is so much training on offer (including trips to the United States), these roles will be based residentially in Mackay or Mt.Isa for the first 18 months – 2 years so you can properly learn the products, mine site operations and get deep into the products and technology. If you are currently in a role which is not giving you enough progression or is not moving fast enough for you, then this may be a phone-call you should make today. In terms of previous experience and required skill-level, it is expected that you have demonstrated talent around Cisco routing / switching, wireless and cabling etc ideally in a customer-facing / Managed Services context. Certification such as CCNA Wireless are particularly well regarded. The role will see you working on-site both above and underground to implement and support a range of infrastructure network solutions such as cabling (C5, fibre, etc) through-the-earth wireless, wired / wireless LAN, voice and other mine specific products. The role will be as varied as it will be interesting. The ideal candidates will possess the above networks experience but also have an appreciation for RF and repairing systems down to component level – basically those individuals who are able to see workarounds, not roadblocks and have the ability to fault-find effectively will be extremely successful and can expect more and more opportunities within the company. You will be the sort of person who has experience working in rugged, hostile environments – it is hot, dirty and dusty – if you are happiest in your comfy chair and ice-cold data centre, then I would not encourage you to apply – if you have an attitude of: improvise, adapt and overcome then call me today to hear more about what is on offer for you. To summarise, technical areas which are essential are: - Cisco wireless - Cisco routers and switches - Cabling (fibre / Cat5) - AutoCAD (for working with customer network diagrams – well regarded) - Soldering, fault-finding to component level - RF knowledge The career path for these positions can take you into Pre-Sales Solution Architecture, Technical Project Management or people management and not just in Australia – as your product experience develops - you will be able to look at travelling the world and working in new exotic locations. So, you have career progression, training, great salary and a chance to move into the most resilient industry in Australia for the next few decades……too good to be true? Find out today – call Adam Broadbent for a confidential discussion around what’s on offer on 07 3243 3044 or send your resume to adam.broadbent@hays.com.au
